This product is an add-on for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016 that installs Copy and Move actions to document libraries and lists in a SharePoint farm. With these actions authorized users can via an intuitive Web interface easily copy and move content to other locations in the farm.

Now, SharePoint also offers similar functionality Out-Of-The-Box. But CopyMove is more powerful, faster and more intuitive to use. Study the feature matrix below to see the differences between SharePoint and CopyMove.

Feature SharePoint 2016 CopyMove 2016   Copy and Move document library files Enables users to copy and move files across lists, sites and site collections in the farm. Only requirement is that the target list is of the same type as the source list. CopyMove has OOTB been integrated with standard Document Libraries, Picture Libraries and Publishing Page libraries. Support for document libraries created from other templates, will require you to develop and deploy a custom SharePoint feature that registers the Copy and Move actions for it.       Copy and Move pictures     Copy and Move list items CopyMove has OOTB been integrated with Announcement lists, Calendar lists, Contact lists, Custom lists, Issues lists, Project Tasks lists, Tasks lists and Links lists.     Copy and Move document library folders Enables users to copy and move entire folder structures, i.e. folders including all the files and sub-folders below it.     Copy and Move Web part pages Enables users to copy and move Web parts pages including the Web parts on them.     Copy and Move Publishing pages Enables users to copy and move Publishing pages including the content and the Web parts on them.     Copy and Move Document Sets A SharePoint 2013 Document Set is basically a document library folder with a special content type. CopyMove recognizes this and provides special support for Documents Sets, which are created differently than regular folders.       Export to ZIP Enables users to export content with full fidelity to a downloadable ZIP file. The content can then at any time be imported again to any location in any farm with CopyMove installed.       Import from ZIP Enables users to import content with full fidelity from ZIP files exported with CopyMove 2013. For document libraries, CopyMove also allows import of documents and folders from plain ZIP files.       Move Document Records Users who have sufficient permissions to undeclare records can also move them with CopyMove to a new location. CopyMove will take care or redeclaring the records there.       Copy and Move across site collections Content can be copied and moved to any site collection that the user has sufficient access to. The target selection tree shown in the screen shot does by default include the current site collection, the user's My site and the user's membership sites. Beyond that users can permanently add their own site collections or they can simply paste the target url into the destination text box.         Preserve version history     Preserve metadata Metadata like created by user, modified by user, created time, modified time, custom column values, managed Metadata and Enterprise keywords are all preserved when copying and moving folders, documents and list items.       Preserve item permissions         Warning on file overwrite     Warning on loss of version history Moving files and list items from lists with version history enabled to another list without versioning, implies that you will loose the version history. In this situation CopyMove first issues a warning to the user before the transaction is started.       Warning on loss of Content Type Moving files and list items associated with Content Types that do not exist in the target list, implies that this information will be lost. In this situation CopyMove first issues a warning to the user before the transaction is started.       Access Copy & Move actions from list views In SharePoint Server 2013 it is necessary to navigate to the "Manage Content and Structure" page to access the Copy and Move actions. With CopyMove, you can access the actions directly from the actions menu or the item menu in list views.     Administrators can set transaction limits To prevent users from accidentally starting long running and resource intensive transactions, CopyMove enfores a limit on the number of files and the total MB that users are allowed to select for each transaction. The limits are configurable from Central Administration.       Restrict access to CopyMove using permissions Site collection administrators and site owners can leverage the standard SharePoint permissions control infrastructure to restrict access to CopyMove to selected groups and users       .NET API For local programmatic access to the Copy and Move functionality.     SOAP Web Service API For remote programmatic access to the Copy and Move functionality.       REST Web Service API For remote programmatic access to the Copy and Move functionality.       JavaScript API Enables client-side integration with the CopyMove UX       Audit transactions Site collection administrators can configure the SharePoint audit log to track who copies and moves what content and when.     Copy and Move with PowerShell Leverage the PowerShell cmdlets in CopyMove to Copy and Move items with full fidelity in PowerShell scripts       SharePoint 2010 Workflow integration Create SharePoint 2010 workflows with SharePoint Designer 2013 and use the CopyMove custom workflow actions to copy or move items.       SharePoint 2013 Workflow integration Create SharePoint 2013 workflows with SharePoint Designer 2013 and call the CopyMove REST web service to copy or move items.       Multi-language support CopyMove 2013 does out-of-the-box include translations of the Web user interface for the languages English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish and Danish. Other languages are available on request with a purchase order.
